Apple Quote

This is something I’ve often told my kids when they ask, “why are people mean?” It’s a saying I use to help better explain life and people to them. I tell them, “people are like apples. Some are bitter, some are sweet, some are sour. Then some are bruised, some are scarred, some are ugly, some are pretty, some are big, and some are small. Some are also just plain rotten. Every apple is a little different, but you can always have more than one sweet apple.” Then I tell them, they are the sweetest apples I’ve gotten. They remember when I tell them this, that not everyone can be a sweet apple. And that’s just the way it is.
